Yes, we carry an air mattress with bedding in an XL LL Bean rolling duffel bag OR the twin Milliard foam trifold mat in the Milliard travel bag.

We typically leave it in the car unless it’s absolutely necessary. Some hotels have two queens (instead of full beds) plus a sofa, and then we don’t need it.

+1 Do this. Also, I always pick a place with 2 queens not 2 doubles. DH and I also have a king at home and struggle in hotels but we can make a queen work. A double does really suck for 2 adults.


Don't some hotels say "two queen beds" but they are actually full/double beds?

No solutions, just empathy. I also have a man-baby for a husband and a child who is following in his footsteps and I too wind up trying to figure out how to make them both happy because neither is capable of just figuring out how to make do.
