I'd rather stick to my Schwab account. I'm in my 40s, made millions in the stock market with high tech, but with deregulation of crypto, I'm thinking maybe it's time. It would be strictly play money, of course. Maybe 100K?

There are several other bitcoin ETFs (e.g., Blackrock has one IBIT) but I think Fidelity's is the best as they custody their own bitcoin rather than relying on third parties to custody it for them.

To PP's comment about blockchain, I am aware they're not in the same category. But I want to invest in both. I can see that blockchain is incredibly useful for all sorts of transactions, not just cryptocurrencies.

Yes, yes - and the sun will one day burn out and everyone's bitcoin will be worthless in the vast empty void of lifeless space.
If "AI" can break Fidelity's custody of bitcoin, then that means all other custodians of bitcoin will face the same risk.
But I'm sure your "secure" investment account with your password consisting of 8 characters of letters and numbers (and a special character -- don't forget the special character!) will be just fine. As will your bank account protected by your 4-digit pin.
