Also 20%. But I take 3 kids with me and we all see the same (cheap but amazing) stylist. I should probably tip more.

20% of course. Her rent and groceries went up, too. I’m just stretching it longer between salon visits. My hair doesn’t look quite as polished of course, but I could look my stylist in the eye if I didn’t pay her a fair price.

DD and I get our semi annual cut w blow-out at the same salon for the last 20 years. They still only charge DD the child/teen rate. So I tip around 25% to make it to a nice $200 flat for cuts for DD and I.

I go every 6 weeks for a cut and blowdry. He charges me $95. I tip $35. He is the owner. Times are tough with layoffs. My income is unchanged.

I never understood this, they have tons of overhead with paying rent, salaries, etc.

I tip 20% but my lady charges a little less. You can ask if she’ll knock the price down if you blow dry your own hair.

Prices have gone up about 15% with my hairdresser. I think her rent went up. She owns her business and I love her so I’m willing to pay the hiked prices. A root job is now $155 (includes a nice blow out at the end). So do I need to tip 20% which would be $31? Tipping on inflated prices is expected? It seems over the top.
