Basal Cell is cancer, yes, but it's almost always taken care of by simply slicing it off. It's not at all like melanoma, which is legitimately dangerous.

I had one removed from my scalp. Specialist biopsied it on the first visit, which she said usually doesn't happen. BCC, biopsy got all of it, though I did read that the cancer was close enough to the edge that it has a risk of recurring.

Basal cell carcinoma can enlarge but NEVER metastasizes. The only issue with it is its location, which can be a nothing or a cosmetic problem when removed.

OP here. That's interesting. This looks more like a pimple, but it's on the cheek. Glad they can remove it if it's BCC. Scared of scar, but maybe I can come up with some cool story instead!

You won’t know until you biopsy. FWIW mine didn’t really look like a pimple. I thought I got cut at first then it remained a red lesion that wouldn’t go away. If it’s BCC it’s not a big deal. You can get it removed with MOHS.

Basal Cell is nothing. Everyone gets them.

Thanks! It hasn't grown or changed in shape. It has some redness around it. I picked at it initially.

It's probably skin cancer and you'll get a MOHs done. They will test to make sure it's not spreading.

I've had this pimple that just won't go away, and it's starting to worry me a bit. I have an appointment later this week.

Does anyone have experience with BCC? Or it turn out not to be BCC? Do they typically biopsy either way? No other symptoms.
