We have a 2016 cx5 and it's been wonderful. No problems, only the routine interval maintenance. I would definitely buy another one when the time comes.

Toyota from that list sure. Definitely no Volvo for longevity. We are partial to Honda/Acura and have had good luck with them too.

I have a 2019 xc90 that has been perfect, no issues at all.

This, but I wouldn't buy a 10 year old mazda and expect it to last a long time. It's already lasted a long time.

I don't know much about the Mazda or Mitsubishi. I would go with the Toyota over the Volvo if the goal is a mostly headache-free 300K miles. Easier to fix / get parts for. If you really need the 3rd row a lot, check for accessibility and comfort.

I love Volvos but wouldn't deal with the headaches. I'm sure some people make it out alive.

I would choose between the Mazda and Toyota. I would avoid the Volvo. I have no idea why people buy those in the first place.

My husband and I are looking to buy a used car and we’d like the car to last a while. We have a Toyota that has close to 300k miles on it and no major issues. We’d like to find something like that again. We have a few cars we are looking at because they have the seating capacity we need and I’m curious if any of these have any major issues that I should be aware of. All the cars fall between 2015-2020 years.
Mitsubishi Outlander
Mazda CX-9
Toyota Highlander
Volvo XC90
