Not helpful. I'm the PP who has been lasered twice (once before kids and then after kids). A wax at the beginning of summer or periodically for vacations, etc. is still amazing. As someone noted, laser never gets rid of aLL hair. If you have one that has, name them here because that would be a laser breakthrough.

I have been consistently every 4-5 weeks with no shaving in between for almost two years. It’s so thin now that I can go this long between waxes. I exfoliate a lot.

what do you do to exfoliate? use a grainy scrub and loofah?

A grainy bath sponge type thing.

Tend Skin for ingrown hairs… it’s the only thing that actually works.

This is OP. Interesting, my body situation is different in that I don’t think I have enough growth only 4 weeks out, but on the other hand the hair is dark and thick when it comes in. Thanks for replying!

1. I do waxing at the beginning of summer and maintain with a bit of shaving. Sometimes I pluck individual hairs. Sometimes you have a wax scheduled at end of week and you just need a bottom with more coverage or shorts so you don't shave.

2. For the ingrown hairs, you need to exfoliate. Vigorously.

3. For period, my waxer is a close friend and she's mentioned/offered that she has regularaly waxed with a tampon string (you tuck it away obviously). But that's too much for me and asking too much of her. Some people just do whatever! But I suppose that's a possibility. For me I'm really sensitive at that time and would not want to endure a wax.

These are great tips! Thank you from OP

I use a home IPL from Braun. It’s awesome.

Never. I shave every other day. I could never deal with the growing out. Laser is also popular.

Laser too (it doesn’t cost that much more than waxing when you consider how long it lasts, and it hurts wayyyy less)

How often to you have your bikini area waxed? How do you handle the transition period to grow enough hair to have waxing done again? These questions are geared to summer when one is wearing a bathing suit regularly but I’ll take answers for any time of year.

Also, I’d appreciate tips on how to handle ingrown hairs along the bikini line - as I’m aging I seem to get ingrown hairs semi-regularly post-waxing.
