Then I moved. In my new neighborhood, I was invited and joined a book club nearby. It devolved into a social club where no one really read the books and just chatted over wine. Eventually the group died off.
After some time had passed, I started another book club, but had trouble finding people who really read and wanted to discuss. That also died off eventually.
It’s been years now and I want desperately to be in a book centered book club. I’ve looked on NextDoor, Meetup, and bookclubs.com to find an in person group but I’ve had no luck. I’m wondering if anyone else has suggestions for how else I might find a book club?
I want a real book club too but it's hard to find one that meets my needs and where there isn't one person who takes over
