There are strong reasons for why parents of school age students should or should not be informed if their kid develops a pregnancy. However, there is a clear law in place that sides one way. The motivations of the principal is clear in sight. He wanted to game his high school graduation rate that is evaluated by gatehouse and state bureaucrats, and saw that a potential early motherhood would adversely affect his graduation rate.

The principal has since been wrongfully promoted. And part of a broader disease in this country where high school graduation rates have increased from 75 to over 90 percent, in recent years that unfortunately don’t indicate improving education outcomes but rather, where admins unethically pressure teachers and their job security to pass lazy and undeserving kids so that they can inflate their level of success or in this case do something flat out illegal. That midget needs to go.

Why should the school counselor tell the parents? It’s none of the parents’ business.

The allegation is that there was one abortion, of one young woman who may or may not have been 18, and another young woman who may or may not have been 18 was taken but changed her mind and left.

Yes, it was wrong. People should not be taking money from FCPS that was budgeted for other things and using it for abortions, but it was not "these abortions". It was one abortion.
