My DH thought his parents had a bad marriage and wanted them to divorce. They did not feel the same.


Same.

My parents were terrible together and because of that the kids suffered emotional neglect. No one had enough in their tank to give us the love or emotional support we needed.

Nah, it depends if you're independently wealthy. If so, crappy marriage is far worse. If you're poor, divorced is worse because you halve your resources.

My parents had a bad marriage, divorced, and are now each in a new bad marriage. I wouldn't say that's a win for them, and it's way worse for me logistically.

Crappy marriage. All of the joy and lightness and fun and meaning in life absolutely flooded back in when he moved out a year ago and has not disapated in the slightest! I cannot even believe I lived that way looking back.
