Maybe take the car to a different place than the one you’d choose for repairs and let them know that you’re only having them do the inspection to make sure you get an honest assessment and any repairs will be done elsewhere.

Do you have an Acura, so you were taking it to the dealership?
I took it to a dealer already, for its 5k checkup, but that was in another state.
