Kids drink pool water. That’s why you need to take them to potty every hour at a minimum.

Very, very common. Children often behave very differently at home than they do in day care, where the environment is completely different.

The bladder is slow(est) to grow and sometimes doesn't catch up to the rest of the body so it fills up faster and needs to empty more frequently especially during growth spurts and developmental phases.

I assume there's no pain for your kid, right? Not a uti. And your kid gas to legit go to the bathroom so its not an attention mechanism.

I think there is a whole lot less communication between daycare staff and kids than parents and kids. Parents are paying attention to one kid and notice all the signs and prompt or ask. Daycare staff miss lots of cues if they even know the cues. It’s all part of for the course. So long as they don’t mind changing him it’s not a big deal.

Also I remember when my kids were training, I felt like they peed so often.

Doesn’t sound potty trained which is fine for a 2.5 yo boy. And his bladder hasn’t caught up. They also may not be taking him as often as they’re telling you.

Well the not emptying all the way could be because he’s slightly constipated? Try some pear juice.

But wetting at school instead of home is probably because he’s distracted at school and the teachers aren’t watching each kid constantly for their “tell” while you can keep an eye on him.

My 2.5 year old has been wearing underwear to daycare- at his teachers suggestion for a few months now. At home he is super consistent; hasnt had a accident in over a month, but at school he is having wetting accidents maybe 3-4 times a week.

He isn't super communicative in groups so I think the issue may be that he isnt speaking up when he has to go. I think they take him regularly but he doesnt seem to empty all the way and sometimes has to pee 3 times in 2 hours. For example- yesterday he peed as we left daycare, we went to the pool so I had him try again before we got into the pool and he had to go. Within 30 minutes at the pool he told me he had to go again and he did.

Could this be a medical issue or is this just common in a group setting without 1:1 attention? Any advice?
