State: you still have to test your students
MCPs required to administer the tests. They probably don't think it's useful data that actually helps assist a student in a classroom. Schools give up 4+ days of school for these state mandated tests.

Ding, ding, ding. I think you've picked up on the real reason behind the delay!
And yes, receiving the results a year later ABSOLUTELY dulls the impact of the results!

Some schools started sending out score reports along with Q1 report card for students to take home. No mailing from Central Office because (as they told parents) there was one person at Central stuffing envelopes of 100k students and that process took over 8 months. But it doesn't look like all schools sent home the mcap score report with students. .......Someone will now join this discussion to say those scores don't matter. Then someone else will ask why are they wasting students and teachers time on this. Then a poster will say it's state requirement. Another will suggest the state should be in charge of mailing scores/report to families. Another will question why don't they just put the scores on ParentVue just like parents have access to MAP-R and MAP-M/P results. A different poster will say MCPS is not technologically advanced they could but they don't.
Taking the bait, here...
+1 Seconding the bait. There's no reason every parent in MCPS should be waiting for Larla in MCPS to stuff 100,000 envelopes if MCPS gets the data on September 12. Why can't they just put it on ParentVue? We didn't get test results til March last year--who cares about data from 9 months ago?

Then it's anyone's guess how long it takes MCPS to get them out to families after that...
