It seems to be a success from the coaches - both club and neutral - that I’ve talked to in person. The only naysayers or skeptics are parents whose players aren’t being highlighted and can’t coast on just being part of teams that win.

I was talking to basketball parent about it and they thought it made so much sense and was wishing they had it for youth basketball too.

Correction. They have placated parents with AI in an attempt for parents to learn the game and focus more on their kids development in aspects of the game that will help their players win more games when they actually matter (hint: not U13/U14).

If they took down the leaderboards, which is the best way to develop players, they knew parents would go crazy.

Not a big fan of MLS but the parent “leaderboard” watching is killing development at these young ages more than any MLS rules.

If you can handle playing against 2 opposing teams when you are younger than playing against 1 team will seem easy later on.

They’re moving to size 3 balls until u13 too. That was announced in the same email.
