I set a filter for store emails that keeps them from my inbox. It cut down on impulse buying and now I go scroll that folder whenever I do legitimately need something to see who has it on sale.

It became easier to just scan for important ones than to delete the crap

I can top that. Mainly the fault of merchants who send mail every other day. It got to be too much to delete.

I never delete unless I get a warning storage is
low and then I sort by size and delete the largest unneeded emails

I delete and send things to junk/spam daily.
I recently deleted a folder of old emails from a past volunteer project that I had thought I'd go through someday. Deleted without looking. You don't need most of what's in your email.
Occasionally I spend an hour or so going through work emails I've saved and reviewing/deleting.
It's just like any organization project. Keep at it daily but go through occasionally for a deep clean.

Yes, different email addresses for different purposes. I should go in and delete a bunch from my main address which I've had for 20 years but otoh I do refer back for many things.

I once had about 3000! I vowed never again, and now I purge them once or twice a week. It does only take about less than 5 minutes.

Wow I thought my 700 was to many, DH has 1,400 and we need to get our act together too.
I need to find a new email besides gmail I can't stand the lack of folders and how it collates your messages even if you don't want it to it's too confusing.
