My 12 month old daughter has a gross motor delay. She says 6 words and, has amazing fine motor skills. She had a very low birth weight and was born at 37 weeks. In particular she isn’t pulling to stand or cruising except when we basically make her. She is a great crawler and will pull to “stand” on her knees. Her pediatrician and the Fairfax county early intervention PT don’t think it’s neurological but it a combination of coordination and strength. PT only comes every other week. She is making progress but is still pretty behind. We have good health insurance and we can afford self pay for those who don’t take insurance. Should we get additional therapy?
