I don’t understand this. And why are they recommending those detachable collar necklaces? If my daughter wears one of those can she otherwise wear whatever top we want?

It’s not really more restrictive. It’s a polo OR a dress, and the only restriction on the dress is a 2 inch strap. Can be as short as they want.

I wish they'd go to full uniform like in the LS for MS. I'm glad to hear they are being a bit more restrictive for the dress code. If a uniform is best for any years it is definitely in middle school.

They don’t have to wear a collar if they wear a dress. I think a lot of girls are just opting for dresses?

If your daughter is in women's sizes, Aeropostale's got polo shirts in a bajillion colors as well as poplin shirts (https://www.aeropostale.com/women-teen-girls/featured/uniform/)

If in kids' sizes, basically any store will do. Gap, Target, J. Crew, Children's Place (again a bajillion colors).

My question would be: if you fold down a half or quarter zip sweater or sweatshirt collar, does that count? If so I can imagine every girl living in Lululemon half zips and leggings.

Polos, collared blouses, tops with Peter Pan collars or Johnny-collars.

Uniform changes always cause an uproar. Years ago, my kid’s Montessori early elementary school switched from requiring khaki bottoms and white, navy, or light blue polos to requiring navy bottoms and white polos and holy heck, you’d have thought the sky was falling.

You get used to it.

What did it used to be? I thought I always saw MS girls wearing polos.

Shirts with collars for girls are polos. My DD is also in US (and started in US) but came from an ES and MS that had uniform requirements, including logo polos from Lands End. Before logos were required on the polos, I bought them at Old Navy or Target for a lot less. If a logo isn’t required, you can get girls polos in lots of places, especially for fairly basic colors like white, red, navy, or dark green (and if colors are required for SSSAS, I’m assuming it’s one or more of those, given the red, white, and green school colors).

My DD never liked long-sleeved polos, so she wore short-sleeved ones with a cardigan when it got colder.

My child is at the upper school but I send good thoughts to you as you attempt to deal with the complexities of the new MS dress code.

Hello. I was hoping some experienced Saints parents can give me ideas for the Middle school dress code... especially the new revisions.

It looks like the big changes are with collars (now required) and leggings (now allowed - as long as they’re “opaque and non-athletic”).

Has anyone found shirts with collars for girls?

It looks to me like dresses don’t have to have collars. Is that right?

Any advice or recommendations for this new Saints family are appreciated!
