I don't have any book recs but do have suggestions for other info sources that might be useful. There's a lot of helpful info on the ADD magazine website. In addition to a variety of free articles, they offer free webinars on various topics and occasionally have free material you can download (like checklists). There are also podcasts for parents with kids who have ADHD, although those can be hit or miss. I like the Calm Parenting podcast for guidance on emotional dysregulation/deeply feeling issues.

If your child is diagnosed with ADHD, there is a great workbook for kids called Thriving with ADHD.

For what it's worth, I'd absolutely do the neuropsych evaluation so that you understand whether it's truly ADHD. Having the evaluation will also help you get accommodations at school that will help her stay on task.

My daughter (6) was flagged by her school at the end of the year for ADHD/attention issues.

We are considering whether we need to do expensive neuropsych evaluation (wait lists are months long, at least for the places her pediatrician recommended).
