This was Jeff’s message when he locked that thread, which is why I started this one (and the one with the original email).

“According to reports and posts in this thread, the school in question is now Blake instead of Einstein. However, while this thread starts with an official email from MCPS, the alleged subsequent email has not been posted. Therefore, I don't know what to believe. As a result, I am going to lock this thread. If there is a new email, please start a new thread with that one.”

They just replaced Blake's principal for also being a failure. She was demoted to a middle school.

Except now it says Blake and not Einstein. Gotta keep up with the central office. Better to send a wrong email to 10,000 in the BcC school community and then change it a few hours later than to check accuracy…

Here’s the new email. I bolded the relevant part.

Dear Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Community,

I hope this message finds you and your families well and enjoying a safe and restful summer.

I am writing to share an important leadership update regarding Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School (B-CC). After thoughtful reflection and conversations about what is in the best interest of the school community, Dr. Shelton Mooney has made the decision to accept a new position as assistant principal at James Hubert Blake High School. This reflects an update from my earlier communication, which stated that Dr. Mooney would be joining Albert Einstein High School.

We are most grateful for Dr. Mooney’s service and leadership as principal of B-CC and extend our best wishes as he takes on this next chapter. His dedication and efforts have contributed meaningfully to the school, and we are confident he will continue to make a positive impact within Montgomery County Public Schools.

As we look ahead, our unwavering focus and priority remain on the well-being, academic growth, and well-rounded development of our students, along with the continued support of our dedicated staff and partnership with our families. We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment grounded in excellence and supported by strong, responsive leadership.

To ensure continuity in the interim, Assistant Principal Mr. DeBerry Goodwin will serve as acting principal. In addition, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Kevin Yates, a respected and seasoned retired principal, who will serve as acting principal of B-CC effective August 12, 2025. Mr. Yates was the former principal of Damascus High School and most recently served as acting principal at Montgomery Blair High School.

We are committed to ensuring stability and continuity for staff, students, and families in the year ahead. Early in the school year, we will share more information about the process for selecting the next principal of B-CC.
