Is this different than before? At my old agency some employees did a bible study at lunch. It wasn't my thing, but I was only invited and not pressured to join.

My pastor in high school made an entire illustration that stood out to me about just this. He talked about a (theoretical) employee working on building an airplane who displayed Bible verses at work but did a poor job, versus an employee who did not but did the best possible job. Then asked all of us high schoolers which one reflected the best on Christianity. The lesson stuck.

Nothing has changed. This Administration is at war with a fantasy about what happens in Federal workplaces.

What was missing in my life was being proselytized to at work.

Maybe! Aren't they supposed to report anti-Christian bias?

You could already display religious stuff, pray, etc. I used to work for the military and official events often began with a prayer. But proselytizing on official time is another thing. I wonder if the religious harassment lawsuit will happen first, or the OIG tips about wasting time.

Most people just want to do their job and go home. Nobody really cares (at least I don’t) about someone’s race, religion, gender, sexuality, shoe size or type of car driven.

I suspect things will continue as usual: do your job and pull your weight for the team. Do not disrupt the work environment with personal beliefs or issues.

That is how it should be. Those interested in topics like religion can discuss it during breaks.

I guess my devout muslim coworker and I (a non observant Jew) can spend our days working on converting each other!

Even better supervisors can try to concert their employees.

Now all the Satanists can come out of hiding to show us Their ways and convert us to do the Dark Lord’s bidding.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2025/07/28/federal-workers-religious-expression/

"Federal employees can display religious items at work, pray in groups while not on duty and encourage co-workers to adopt their faith, according to guidance released Monday by the Office of Personnel Management, which manages the federal civilian workforce.

In a memo titled “Protecting Religious Expression in the Federal Workplace,” OPM Director Scott Kupor said that the government workforce should be “a welcoming place” for employees who practice a religious faith.

"Although the core of OPM’s guidance on religious expression differs little from past administrations, it “presents a substantial shift in that it encourages employees to express their religious beliefs in the workplace,” said Stefanie Camfield, associate general counsel and director of human resource services at Engage PEO."

This could be hilarious. Or annoying. Or a bonanza for some lawyers.
