People do this to me. I look really plain, which I think translates to benign in people’s heads. If there’s a huge empty room or beach or restaurant, I can guarantee someone will end up as close to me as possible. I never get my own seat on a train or bus because I’m the first person people sit next to when all the other seats have just 1 person in them.
