You need to look at the individual questions. Taylor promised to work on safety. Still waiting to see what that means.

Agreed. The meaningful stat is on "not at all safe" percentages. They gave that for some schools but not all

Are the NEC schools even THAT dangerous?

Agreed. I don’t feel completely safe anywhere!

Thomas Taylor, Marcus Jones and Peter Moran should be ashamed of themselves. And the BOE should be held accountable by the County Council for failing in its oversight responsibilities.

Nicely said, but it will never happen.

It depends on what your goal is. Is it the goal of MCPS to have every child feel safe or is somewhat safe ok with them?

It was probably the admin...they weren't supportive to all staff.

My kids both feel safe/happy at their schools which did very well so I’m glad the data reinforces this.

As a teacher in a cluster with much higher percentages, this is not surprising. Even in elementary schools, we allow crazy behaviors to happen. There are no consequences for kids in or out of schools. Teachers in my school already feel scared by some of the behaviors they see, and I can only imagine how much worse it is as the children get older/bigger/stronger. The county needs a way to keep students and staff safe!

Too many fights, too many poorly maintained buildings, no wonder students and staff feel unsafe.
