Hell yes, I'm "accepting" it. Of course it was my money to start with.

Tax was killing who? The people in most economic peril aren't getting any relief here.

No one is stopping me from donating. I haven't decided what to do, in part because it's not clear how much of a winner I'll be. I'm curious if other wealthy people are considering doing it.

I am helping you decide what to do because, obviously, this is bothering you. Also, "not political" my a$$.

I don't want to talk about whether it was a good or bad idea to pass it.

I have my feelings and I'm not trying to debate them. I'm trying to talk about what people will really do with the money and if anyone who is opposed to the bill has qualms about taking their windfall given the extremley limited nature of who gets it.

You are such a good boy, or girl.

Just about every American will take the tax cut. Even Democrats will bank their tax cuts.

Objectively speaking, it's not a good deal for most Americans. No one debates this. It's a very good deal for certain Americans who were successful in getting Congress to approve it. That's not political. That's just the way it is.

Banking tax cuts is not good tho—that hurts the economy.

No one will be better off unless they're the outrageously rich.

Some of it will be that your taxes don't go UP. They would if the rates and deductions from 2017 ended.

We will either apply it to 2026 taxes or spend it in something Trump would not approve of.

You don’t need to break it into Trump part and non Trump part. It is not like taxes before Trump are the gold standard. Feel free to donate any part of your income that you believe should go to less fortunate.

Yes, if we get one as ours isn't as high as yours. No, I'm not donating it.

First off, if you want to argue about the politics of it, take it to the politics forum... I'm asking because I read this piece: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2025/07/25/trump-tax-law-rich-liberals/

It's been really hard to figure out exactly how much I'll be gaining, but we have a HHI over $350k and every "calculator" says this will be a significant plus, but I haven't been able to figure out if that means in dollars and cents. I think most of the calculators are aimed at showing how most americans (ie, not a HHI of $350k+) will lose out, but I'm really curious to see what it translates to in dollars and cents. One calculator suggested I'll have at least a $30k benefit—but I think that means in terms of reducing my taxable income.

Either way, I think it's a disaster of a bill, but I realize that when we talk about how it will benefit the wealthy and hurt the poor, I'm someone who will be benefitting it. I don't mind getting extra money, but it sure doesn't feel right. As most of you know, even having a high HHI doesn't mean you don't NEED the money for something, so I suspect I'll just keep it (probably not spend it on anything extra), but does nayone have plans to donate?
