I have no idea how to gauge it in that way. Confident he was over the 0.08 limit but he was not like fall down drunk or blackout like a frat boy. He came home and was being loud in the kitchen making something to eat. It was obvious he was drunk. After eating, he immediately fell asleep for the night. It was only 7pm. 100% drunk.

Over many years of marriage I’ve faced this a couple of times. I didn’t yell at him but I told him how disappointed I was, the risk he was taking on himself and others. Just yesterday he was going to golf in the afternoon and then have dinner an hour away with a large group of friends. I told him to be careful and be safe. He got home at around 10pm and he was in very good shape. I always worry but he’s never arrived home drunk though I know he’d been drinking.

The thing for me is that it’s not about the drinking, although that could or could not be a problem in your case.

I would be 10/10 but non alcoholics do drive drink sometimes! (Not me-not a drinker and literally won’t drive after a single drink.)
I have no idea if her husband is an alcoholic or not but this is bad judgement and idiocy (along with depraved indifference to the safety of other drivers) that may or may not be accompanied by alcoholism.

10/10 as well. I would make him call me before he gets in the car after any social event for the foreseeable future until I feel like I can trust him again. Totally unacceptable, dangerous not just to himself but to people everywhere.

10/10. If he’s not a drinker and it was some freak oversight I wouldn’t insist on no alcohol but I would insist on zero driving after any alcohol at all since he’s a numpty who can’t do math or tell time apparently.
