I live in the neighborhood, based on where cars end up being parked for the event, it is not that much farther to walk to the restaurants. It is about 1/2 a mile from Pinecrest to the shopping center. Obviously, it is your choice, but I saw plenty of people who were parking by our house, it is a longer walk from our house to the shopping area. If you are close enough to hop in the car and drive over, you are likely to have a longer walk from where you park back to the pool. Just an observation.

But there are many air conditioned spots for a nice lunch. If you drive, Ariaki Sushi is off of Colt's Neck, and has great lunch deals.

This is also why I’m kind of glad my kid only qualified in 1 event. Makes it a lot easier.

It depends on the swimmer and the team. If a team has a lot of swimmers participating then it makes it more fun than sitting around by yourself or with 1-2 other teammates.

This meet is the worst one of the year. My DD did it for a couple of years and then quickly decided to end her season with Divisionals.

We plan to leave for a light lunch and some air conditioning between the two events. But my team only has a couple of swimmers going, so there’s not much of a team area. We’ll just be sitting individually in the single-swimmer section and may not even see our teammate much as they’ll arrive right around our second event. It might be different if we had a whole team there.

Weather looks brutal. I can’t stay out in that all day.

Yeah, that sucks. If you can leave and come back, great. If not, find some place with A/C to hang out. Saturday looks like a scorcher.

We typically stay, but if there are 3 hours between your swimmer’s events, I’d consider leaving. There is a strip mall close by to grab a light lunch in the A/C. The event is hot and it gets hot in the tents, esp with a bunch of kids crammed in.

We stayed in the team area with kids. It is a different feel than other events and adults are expected in team area.

Last year, we as parents left and came back. DC wanted to stay, so stayed in team area. Left DC with money for food, etc.

For those of you that have been to NVSL all-stars: child qualified in two events with what seems to be 3 hours in between. With single event viewing, what do parents do all that time? Do parents leave and come back? Do you leave with your kids and come back? Do you sit in a field for 5 hours?
