HR leader here....

Well, executive recruiters are also human beings and it's summer so they might have kids in camps with unusual pickup schedules. They might have PTO plans, etc.

There are more candidates than jobs right now so recruiters are busy trying to talk to a lot of people....plus do other things like internal meetings, training, and the necessary things that come with working for a company.

You described this has happened TWICE, so I'd hardly say it's a prevalent problem across many situations or recruiters. Just reschedule and see how it goes.

Try to relax when you get into the conversation. This kind of inflexibility won't help you shine as a candidate.

Agreed with this sentiment. Also, they have so many candidates for so many jobs that double booking becomes a constant problem.

Twice I've had calls scheduled with executive recruiters for an intro call on a role only for them to be rescheduled at the last minute (last one was 24 hour notice, this one about 1.5 hours notice). Am I reading into this that they have more exciting candidates that they're prioritizing over me? I'm luckily still employed right now and rearranged my schedule to make these calls work and its super annoying that they were rescheduled on me with little notice... I'm still very interested in the roles though so I'll do the calls, but I just can't help feel like its a message that they're not actually interested in me
