GFR takes USL-Y seriously and pulls some good players from nearby clubs that don't have summer teams.
But win or lose, there are mostly the same pluses and minuses for all the Super-Y / USL-Y teams every summer. All the clubs face the same decisions - training gets canceled a ton in the summer, due to thunderstorms and high temperatures.
And they all struggle with roster size, since so many families take long vacations. They may roster 23 players, so they have 21 available for a game on, say, June 25 (too many) but then only 10 players on, say, July 7.
