My parents retired there. They like it.

If they don't plan to do much international travel since no large airport. They could find their intellectual and political peer group. Weather would be the same as DMV. A plus would probably be year round residents

I couldn’t imagine a worst place to retire. Why would you want to do that? Would you want to pretend you’re in the 17th century for the rest of your life?

How about ford colony in Williamsburg? Would you recommend?

If I was moving to get away from the DMV weather Williamsburg would not be far south enough for me. It’s basically the same weather that we have in the DC area.

My mom moved to Colonial Heritage (across from the Go Kart place).

It's not Kingsmill per your post, but mom likes CH.

I know a retired couple who lives there. They love it. It’s not cheap but from what I can tell living in a $1m house in Williamsburg will make people feel rich.

Williamsburg has become a popular retirement destination. Developers have been marketing it in New England as a warmer place to retire but without the headaches (hurricanes, other) of Florida.

I loved Williamsburg when I visited there. Am also considering it for retirement.

Anyone do this? We are specifically looking at Kingsmill for the amenities and we’re hoping for some feedback. Thanks
