He will need the pre requisite classes (and grades) before he applies to nursing school.

Also often one can take individual courses at a local university as a non-degree student.

For medical related conversions, Georgetown has a (very expensive) 1 yr MS in Physiology degree.

The least expensive choice is a community college. Community college can be a great choice as you might get a class of 30 that would be a large lecture at a university.

Another option is to take classes as a non-degree student at any college/university/extension school type program.

It’s important that he takes the classes and does well in them before applying to the program. It does not matter where he takes them (community college vs university). I would strongly recommend whatever is most convenient and affordable.

When I was applying to nursing school, I took my prerequisites (anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and organic chemistry) at a local community college and another university’s extension program.

When I lived in Cambridge I took summer courses at BC and night courses at Northeastern.
In DC area I would look at NVCC, GMU, or Maryland working adult college forget what ir is called.

My son has freshly minted degree in Conservation Biology (may, 2025). He's currently working as an lab assistant at a large university.

However, he doesn't want to continue down that track and has been looking into progams geared for graduates for nursing or medical technology, but is finding that they ask for prerequisites he doesn't have. (Organic Chemistry, anatomy and physiology for example).

I'm sure he's not the first person whose path has taken a little turn. How do people handle prerequisites? where do they go to take extra classes after a BA but before a program elsewhere? Do programs accept someone and then let them take those classes first at the undergrad level?
