I'm happy to say that the Mucinex D worked wonders at loosening + drying things up enough that he could actually get a night of rest.
Great, and know for future reference that the pseudoephedrine can cause rebound congestion. If you do well with the combo, get both meds. Pre-combined medications are much less useful than stand-alone, single drugs. The cost for "just mucinex" and "just sudafed" isn't much different than the cost of mucinex-d, and may even be cheaper. Then, you can take mucinex 2x daily, and just take a sudafed in the mornings, as needed.
Glad it worked out for you, and there's a reason the recommendation was what it was. Know your drugs.
