All Bran Buds - you start your day with 17 grams of fiber.

I am liking steel cut oatmeal with added flax seed and berries. I do about a week’s worth of the oatmeal in my crockpot over the weekend: 1 cup oatmeal, 3 cups water, 1 cup milk. This is the base. I just throw it in a Tupperware in the fridge. In the mornings, I scoop out about 1 cup and eat with a little bit of added 1% milk, the flax seed, and any berries we have: blueberries, strawberries, etc.

For the past week I’ve been having a bowl of the cereal with cut up fruit and I find I’m so satisfied and stay full, or at least don’t find myself craving more.

What’s the best cereal? What would offer the most nutrition, something I could add fruit to. And no recommendations for those $10 a box protein cereals, please. I already drink protein shakes twice a day.

The only benefit of cereal is fiber. It's empty junk food used as a filler for the most part other than the gained fiber.

So pick the highest fiber cereals that you can stand.

Muesli is one of the most extreme. Something like Corn Flakes would be on the opposite end of the spectrum and mostly slop pressed into shape. All kinds in between.

Pay attention to the ingredients list and the soluble and total fiber content, as well as total carb content. You want high fiber but low overall carbs if possible.

Eat any cereal and just stay under 300 calories and don't eat more than that.

Cut the protein shakes and you’ll lose weight.

I like oatmeal.

If you prefer cold, you can do overnight oats (super easy to prepare: 1/2 cup oats, add milk or water, set in fridge 12 hours before breakfast. I add cinnamon, nuts and fruit be for eating!).

I had to eat Grape Nuts as a child and thought I liked it okay. So one day a few years ago I got it. It tastes AWFUL! Like tiny pieces of cardboard!

I like bran flakes (not raisin bran) with fruit. They have added sugar, so may not be the “best”, but since I generally buy store brands, they’re about as affordable as anything else.

I lost weight eating Fiber One for breakfast. It’s good with either milk or plain yogurt, plus fruit.

I eat plain shredded wheat every morning and it makes me so sad.

Dumb ol' Cheerios go really well with fruit.

Oh my god, I've just started a new cereal fixation and am talking about it with anyone who'll listen.

Simply Elizabeth grain free, with a little milk and sliced banana. It's SO good, and super filling!

I’m currently trying to lose this last 15lb. My usual breakfasts (egg and turkey sausage with avocado, oatmeal with nuts and dried fruit, or yogurt with fruit and granola) aren’t satisfying me anymore and are leaving me craving more.

For the past week I’ve been having a bowl of the cereal with cut up fruit and I find I’m so satisfied and stay full, or at least don’t find myself craving more.
