Ha! I’m single, but I am 100% the kind of person who would say stuff like that if I had a boyfriend/husband I found hot.
For me it’s mostly my personality, if I think my man is sexy I’m going to say it a lot. My girlfriends and I also tend to talk that way, we’re always discussing who we think is hot, if we find our men hot, etc. I try not to talk that way around people I know don’t also talk that way, but sometimes I slip up.

It's weird!
I have a relative who does this with his wife. He even introduces her to us( his siblings, nephews, nieces and cousins) as his hot wife.
We all know her, but he always starts with that introduction. It is so weird, but he is an overall wonderful human, so we put up with it.

It is so f-ing weird.
I make a joke out of it because I don't know what else to do. I think it has to be deep insecurity? It's so uncomfortable. Also, in her case her husband is a nice man but perfectly normal looking and not really that hot but I'm happy she finds him attractive.

My DH and I have a couple we are friends with. We have kids around the same age and we get together with them a few times a year. Every single time we are together, the wife seems to go out of her way to make comments to me about how attractive she finds her husband. Like this last time, we were just standing watching the kids play and she looked over at her husband and mine talking across the pool and she’s like, “My husband is so f’ing hot.”
It’s so awkward. What does she want from me? Does she want ME to agree he’s hot? I don’t think he’s hot. He’s traditionally attractive, but I don’t find him “hot” and if I did, I sure wouldn’t broadcast it!
Other times she’ll be like, “Adam is such a DILF” or “Look at my sexy husband.”
These two are otherwise career professionals, UMC, especially her; she comes from money. It always sort of shocks me and feels so abrupt and out of place. I DO NOT think she’s suggesting anything like swinging, before anyone mentions that.
So what DOES she want from me?
How should I handle this going forward?
