Both my kids stopped around this time.

I think most humans have some wind down time. Do you fall asleep the moment your head hits the pillow?

My kid is 3, still takes a 60 to 90-minute nap (otherwise he gets very cranky), but we pushed bedtime to 8pm. I don’t know if that’s the right answer for you, but it works well for us. However, as long as your kid is sitting quietly in bed and can put himself to sleep I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Why would it be weird??

How long is he napping? If it's a longer nap (more than 90 mins or so) you may want to cap it a bit. Even just waking him 15 mins or so earlier from nap may help.

It's also possible that he just needs some quiet unwind time before bed, so you may just want to let sleeping dogs lie.

I would not shorten his night sleep at this age with a nap.

My DC would run around his crib making choo choo train noises. DC was train obsessed. A few times I found DC asleep sitting up, with their head flopped between their legs. I wish I had taken a picture. And DC would also chitchat to themselves.

I didn't know if that was normal or not since this was our first DC, and we didn't have a lot of exposure to young children. But, it was sure entertaining to hear and watch DC over the monitor.

He's asleep by 7? Or he lays down at 7?

That’s normal night sleep but may be starting to grow out of nap.

All three of my children completely dropped naps around their second birthdays. According to my Mom, I did as well. Maybe he is okay with just some quiet time at this point.

Sounds pretty lucky to me.

Time to drop the nap?

Also, that is a LOT of sleep, even for a 2.5 yr old. Push bedtime 30 minutes later.

With that schedule, yes I would try to stay up a bit later.

That said my 2.5 year old is just like this and will take that kind of time to fall asleep at any hour.

2.5 yo has been in twin bed for 6+ months. I stopped using the monitor a few months back when we switched internet because I never looked at it anymore. I had a babysitter last week so connected it again and have realized that after we read in his bed and I leave, my child stays awake, quiet in bed for more than 30 minutes. I always just thought he fell asleep since he was quiet.

Is that weird? Im glad he stays there but wonder if we could start to stay up a bit later (currently sleeps 7pm-6:15am).
