I am a DH.

I am very nerdy, and pretty much don’t care what most people except my core circle.

Life is pretty good for me (well until Jan) - work as a gov scientist in a field I love, and lovely family.

Surprisingly I was not bullied in high school — at least not in anyway that I noticed. My best buds were both 6’4” so I do wonder if they were a factor, but they were hardly bruisers just beefier nerds.

My mother and guidance counselor pushed me to get one because I'm petite and we hauled a ton of books around at our school. I refused.

I'm now basically the same person I was back then - introverted, nerdy, but enjoys other people. Employed, married, with kids.

My sister had one. She was just a nerdier kid who didn't care what others thought and preferred it. She has a good life - she is an adjunct professor at a community college and has two kids. I don't like her spouse that much, just because he is grating and a know it all, but he's nice to her.

I wanted one so badly because my books were so heavy. My brother said it was social death. I didn't get one and only went to Georgetown Law. I'm not even a practicing attorney anymore.

I had one during law school because books were so heavy. I finished my law degree and also got a masters degree as well. Married, had kids. Kids now in college and about to go to grad school.

My brother's a CFO of a midsize medical supply company. My mom was definitely controlling however my brother was the one who wanted the roller bag. He is definitely somewhere on the spectrum but back then he was just the "weird" and "quirky" kid.

I was always so curious - the kids who had them at my school had incredibly controlling parents it seemed. I can name a handful of kids and that always stood out to me how similar the families were structured. They always had great grades though fwiw!
