OP, start with the housing website and look at the beds. I don't know how one would even attach.

Have her decide how high she would like the mattress level.

I would skip the headboard. Waste of time and money. Pain to move out. Entirely unnecessary.

Be sure to check with the school about what is allowed. Fire codes at older DCs school would have prohibited this for multiple reasons (no tapestries, either).

DC2 isn’t allowed to bring anything classified as furniture, but that definition is fuzzy. I have no idea if a headboard would be ok unless I asked specifically.

We checked out my daughter’s dorm last week and realized that the dorm is wayyyyy smaller than the pictures. We were going to do a headboard but now decided to hang up tapestry as the headboard will add visual bulk.

daughter wants very basic, white with nail trim maybe, some are sold out, i see several on amazon — just recommendations for one that does not fall apart — also I am assuming the adjustable one with rails is likely better than wall mounted?
