100%. Great advice. Especially with how fast recruiting moved last year. I feel like the first two weeks of Sept were insane. To some degree it is a game of musical chairs which is why you have to be prepared to act quickly. Also, make sure you know how to answer the coach's question,"where do we stand on your list?" As for showcases nobody knows what will work and won't. It's like marketing...50% will be a waste of time, 25% will be ok, and 25% produces the results you seek. Some kids like to play a lot, some don't. Wherever you go make sure you can play at your best which includes body language and attitude. Good luck.

And which showcases are worth the time and money?

Do you mean the summer before or after junior year?

Summer of Junior year showcases are absolutely worth it as long as you show well. Showcases prior to Junior summer won’t do anything towards recruiting except get you daughter used to playing in that environment College coaches recruit the current year. They are not recruiting years ahead. If you want fro get on their radar ahead of time go to their specific camp and dominate.

Great topic. Would love to hear about the perceived value of showcases in your DDs journey. I know of committed players who did as many as possible starting in 8th grade, and some who did closer to zero. I am having trouble making sense of whether the juice is worth the squeeze on most of these.

For those of you of that have completed the process share your experience for those of us about to enter it.

Did your DD end up where she expected or was she surprised by her choice/offers? How early did schools who made offers show interest? Any word of advice for post September 1st when visiting schools and interviewing?
