I think it’s personal preference. I’ve lived in multi million dollar townhomes and single families.

The row homes tend to be closer to more walkable things, although not necessarily. I’d consider both.

To demonstrate that it is not price driven, our last budget when we were looking was $5-$10M

Looking for housing in 20016 and 20008 with a budget of 1.4-1.7m. Found a few targets, some are small SFH like the following

https://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/3835-Albemarle-St-NW-20016/home/9968975

https://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/4412-Lowell-St-NW-20016/home/9955919

https://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/3931-Massachusetts-Ave-NW-20016/home/9963594

Some are TH like the following

https://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/3637-Veazey-St-NW-20008/home/9972761

https://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/2942-Bellevue-Ter-NW-20016/home/9965649

At similar price would it make more sense to have a SFH rather than a TH? The two THs above have similar size of living as those SFHs, although land is smaller. Also noticed SFHs in 20015 slightly lower priced - is there a reason?
Not sure if the cooling in DC market would continue, and if I should wait a bit to buy. Any advice appreciated!
