I agree with this. My kid just finished 6th at Deal and did math 6. She started out doing just ok, but by the end of the year, she was going gangbusters in math. She was invited to do the summer math program and should be in math 8 in the fall, followed by Algebra in 8th.

I’m glad I let her follow her own path on her own time and didn’t push math on her.

It’s adaptive so it will move them up and down grade levels to see what they can and can’t do. If they were in DCPS they already have accounts and can do lessons in iReady now.

iReady diagnostic will go far beyond 5th grade content. It can place your student below 5th grade and far above 5th grade. Every DCPS MS I've worked in gives students this test.

Going into 6th grade at Deal. What is the content being tested on the math placement iReady test in the fall? Is it what you were supposed to have learned in 5th grade? If my child wants to do some test prep, how do I find what he should review?
