If you need something pretty soon, there are places in Daly City such as a good Paris Baguette.

Paris Baguette is shit. Nobody local ever goes there. I walk past the one on Market Street weekly and nobody but tourists are ever there, and it's mostly empty.

Yes excellent point

So true. OP, read up on this. Don’t leave ANYthing visible in the car.

Trunks aren't super safe either especially in a rental car. The thief teams know how to spot the little bar codes on rental cars, and they break the rear windows, pull down the seats and grab stuff from trunks. Although the break-in problem has improved drastically since 2022-23.

I’d get really good sandwiches at Lucca deli or cheese plus, and picnic here for amazing views in the city.

For Marin:

Perry’s in Larkspur will have a nice vibe and takes reservations. Try for the patio but all the spots are nice.

Outskirts of Sausalito - Fish. Really good food and water view but probably a wait on weekends. This would be my top rec if it’s not busy.

Fast Casual - various Equator Coffees have really nice sandwiches. Even the one at the GG bridge.

Tiburon has nice views. Luna Blu. Sam’s is definitely tourist fare but the view makes it worth it.

Mill Valley has a nice downtown with lots of restaurants.

Assuming you’ll be immediately hungry upon landing and will have all your luggage with you, I don’t recommend heading into SF and trying your luck with finding something in a cute neighborhood (although the Clement Street recommendation is otherwise spot on).

Instead, I’d recommend Taqueria San Bruno right off the airport for good tacos or go to Stonestown Galleria mall in SF. Their food court is a bit of a foodie mecca and they have covered parking.

La Boulangerie is a great cafe with fantastic bread/sandwiches- that's the one I have personal experience with, had a friend who used to live nearby and went there a few times when visiting. But there are a couple of pizza places, a sushi place, multiple taco options, a burger place, Chinese, Greek, etc all within that strip of 3 blocks or so on 24th. Will surely find something there that everyone will like. If you sit outside and look west you will be looking right at the Twin Peaks.

Uh, don't listen to this person. La Boulangerie is not a good place for hungry kids, and the good pizza and Chinese is not in Noe Valley. If you want to go to Noe Valley you can go to Hi-Way for burgers, but go to the Mission for good tacos. Since you'll be near Marin, if you want a vegan experience go to Greens in the Marina District, or Jackson Fillmore Trattoria or Dumpling Story nearby.

PP here- yeah agreed Mission will have the best tacos, but reading into it, someone staying in Marin might find that a bit too grungy. See my followup also suggesting Clement Street in the Richmond, that's a great place for Chinese.

The other area I would look at is the Richmond District, at all the places along Clement on either side of Highway 1. Similarly convenient spot between the airport and the GG Bridge, and again a cute neighborhood with plenty of good places to eat.

Hoping to get a recommendation or two. We are landing at San Francisco airport at 11am and staying in Marin county. Where would you go for an easy lunch before checking in to the hotel? Sausalito is not in the cards as we are heading there for dinner. Looking for something scenic and easy. It can be in the City. We will have hungry tweens and teens.
