My friend literally just did this last night (I was the stranger). If that was me, sorry, but I enjoyed meeting you!

Oh this one is easy.

Just tell her what you told us.
If she continues the behavior then cut her loose.

Ghosting optional.

Especially if she brings stranglers with her. Dangerous!

Why can’t you just tell her you don’t like when people, including her, stop by unannounced? Why can’t you just tell her it makes you feel uncomfortable when she brings people over that you don’t know?

Some people are spontaneous, casual stop by unannounced types. Other people dislike that intensely. Nobody is a bad guy here but you just have different preferences. I’m like you and don’t like when people come over without me knowing beforehand you should be able to just lightheartedly but firmly tell your friend. Pick a moment to tell her, and don’t make a big deal out of it.

I think it is rude and many times I don’t get notified ahead of time or she catches me off guard.

Not sure how to handle

Well, communicate your feelings about boundary issues with her.

Don’t you lock your door? Don’t you know where your spine is?

The next time she comes over unannounced - At your front door before you let her into your home..... Advise her she needs to call and confirm prior to popping up at your home.

Do this ASAP.. and in front of whatever stranglers she has with her.

Lock your house? Open your mouth and tell her no?
