No. DD at a $90k college, but I would never spend $40k on a consultant. So definitely has to be someone who earns way more than me.

Just saw it today, 300K for a college campus visit tour.

Honestly, I don't think you will be getting any useful "guidance" from these counseling service if you are on a 40k budget. Whatever advices you got from them will be generic. Just self-study the application process.

we are two government workers making combined about $300,000 a year and 40,000 was our limit.

That was out-of-pocket.

40k is on the lower end, no? Don't think that will give you tailored essay guide. In Bay Area, it seems like many people spend around 100k from 9-12 grade.

…without batting an eye.

My sister sent her DD to UMiami. No financial aid and she struggled. But DD was surrounded by celebs’ kids and rich foreigners.

I’d guess you’d have to be north of $700k annually and not have a gazillion kids.

We spent $10k on a consultant. Our HHI about $450k. So I guess for $40k I'd want to be making four times that?

And I realize that’s not even what the most expensive charge. Just wondering what kind of income level / net worth makes people comfortable spending this amount
