Tons of jellies at the DE beaches right now and not the harmless clear ones. Big red and brown ones, in the water and on the beach. It’s terrible. We have had a house here for a long time and this is the earliest I’ve ever seen them. Usually not this bad until later in August!

There were a bunch in June, too. Daughter got stung. Between the cold water, rain, jellyfish, red flag days, and tons of seaweed, we barely get water time when we go to OBX.

Yes, it's unusual to have so many jellies before late August.

With the water getting so hot, I’m not surprised. But it is very early to be so overrun.

Heads up if you’re headed to Duck or Corolla soon… there are so many jellyfish in the surf and on the beach. Beautiful day today but no one in the warning because of the jellies….
