I have noticed quite a few only take BCBS, so it's worth a search.

Healthy Foundations in Bethesda takes BCBS and has programming (individual and group as well as IOP) for teens as well as young adults and adults. They have therapists as well as prescribers if needed for med management.

+1. We found several who took our insurance and had openings. This is very different than a couple of years ago when I looked and everyone had long wait lists. We have Anthem.

But I just posted on the thread how therapy is making issues worse so maybe read those perspectives before you do this.

I'm in NOVA and there are absolutely places that take BCBS with nothing more than a copayment. Where are you located?

FWIW, I found them by doing a search for psych providers through the BCBS search function and then vetted from there.

I don’t know where you’re located, but Aspire Counseling and Orchard Mental Health Group, both near the Gaithersburg/Rockville border, are practices that bill health insurance. I don’t know about BCBS specifically. BCBS will have a search feature on their website that will show you who is in network. From there, you can read therapists’ profiles on Psychology Today, but honestly, I wouldn’t waste a lot of time doing that because it’s hard to find a therapist with availability. Practices will fill slots as they become available; it’s not like you can have your pick of therapists, although they do usually ask if your child will has a preference for male or female provider.

Many insurances will reimburse a good amount if you send them your superbills. Call BCBS and get a sense of how much they reimburse for OON.

Where are you located?

Most therapists do not seem to take insurance off the bat, rather they bill you and then you get reimbursed from your insurance.

We have some family issues bubbling up with siblings that will undoubtedly impact our DC. Would like to get them started in therapy, in network, to have someone to support them in what will be a difficult and likely lengthy period. Any recommendations?
