Subject: After school Activities for Neuro-Diverse DD
Imagination Stage has both special classes and staff who can support ND in kids typical classes. They have dance and drama.

When my dd with a similar profile was 9, she, a sibling and I signed up for a family art class on clay sculpting that was offered at the Kentlands Arts Barn in Gaithersburg. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s offered anymore, but if you can find art classes that work with clay, they’re worth checking out. Clay is such a forgiving medium; if you don’t like how something is turning out, you just pound the clay and start over. There’s something really relaxing about the tactile aspect of molding clay with your hands.

I think the martial arts are great for neuro diverse people.

I’m looking for after school activities for our 9 year old DD who is AuADHD. She really wants to do cheerleading but has coordination issues. She could do other things like gymnastics, tennis, ice skating, drama etc. I’m mostly looking for activities that would be well structured and programs that would have the capacity to deal with a neurodiverse child and that would give her an outlet to where she feels motivated and happy. We live in NW DC so something in MoCo would be preferable.
