Thank you. These are helpful responses. If you switched teams where did you like better in the same area for technique?

Our son switched to Marlins and actually finally got the stroke and technique feedback he’d been wanting and has made significant leaps. I think it’s very kid and coach dependent. Many of the coaches do give stroke correction and kids don’t listen or try to change. I can only speak to mornings though. And find me a team where there aren’t kids with poor technique - it’s everywhere.

^ Marlins swimmer’s technique is horrible.

Below was previously written about the Marlins Chinquapin site on this post - https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1275119.page

We had a similar experience with the Marlins coach at Chinquapin-Alexandria. I reached out to the coach a couple of times to discuss specific goals my child had set for themselves and barely got a reply. It was so frustrating. We switched out and have advised others to look elsewhere for quality coaching.

Kids on our summer team do it and their form is terrible. If my 10 yo swims 2x a week all year and still gets DQed in the summer, I want my money back. But it tracks with my understanding that it's all yardage and no technique training.

Our 15 year old swims at that site but he is in the AM. Are you looking for AM or PM practices?

We have had several families from there on our summer team. They like it. I have heard from others that they produce fast kids but a lot of yardage at a young age.
