A lot of custodian to custodian transfers are done on paper— some IRS reason maybe?

how long did it take until money showed up kid's account? it looks like my request to MD529 was sent out to Vanguard (mailed 7/10 via USPS, if I am reading it right) but hasn't shown up in my kid's account yet. it looks like they use USPS rather than electronic transfer. Kinda weird.
