Honestly no. I don’t think A line dresses look professional. But I also don’t think you would get written up for wearing one. So depends on what you are going for.

I have a similar body type and tend to wear mostly pants and silk blouses when I need to look professional.

Just be sure to define your waist. Otherwise you'll look dumpy. Cropped jacket, peplum, belt, etc. Usually better to match the skirt rather than have a big color contrast.

Probably not as a set, but you can definitely find a slight a line and pair with certain blazers. Requires some mix and match/trial and error.

Most suit dresses are sheaths, right? But I look best in something flared or A-line. Do suits or professional dresses exist in this cut? Have to report in person to a job I was fired for remotely so need to beef up the business wardrobe. Google wasn't leading me the right direction.
