I think this is the way to go. A neighbor is more likely to actually pay you (hopefully) than a stranger and selling at whatever price you paid is a fair thing to do. Keeps more goodwill in the neighborhood.
Sounds like you have never used StubHub or tick pic. The recipient has to pay you before they receive the ticket. The company in between handles everything on the backend, or the transaction/purchase is canceled if they don’t pay within a certain amount of time.
You're right, I haven't used it on the seller end. I have friends who have been burned buying tickets they never received so I'm wary.
I have had the experience of making a new friend in the neighborhood who also liked a lesser known band when they were selling tickets. I am biased that way.
