For me, the thing that made me get hrt asap was serious lack of sleep. In retrospect, I let the sleep get worse and worse slowly over time and I don’t know why I put up with lack of sleep for so long. Lack of sleep is pretty awful.

Personally, I could probably live with the other day by day symptoms like night sweats but I must sleep.

I also am personally convinced that the long term health benefits are real so I want to be on hormones and I’d want to be on them even if I had no symptoms whatsoever. But you can’t get hormones for that reason so I keep it to myself and get hrt for the day to day symptoms like inability to sleep.

On weight loss, I think most posters here who are ok hrt will tell you it might help but it’s no miracle cure and might even add pounds. You have to be doing all the lifestyle things and Hrt is just part of the solution. I think most folks recognize that GLP1s or whatever they’re called is the thing that can help you lose weight but be careful bc of how you can lose muscle on those and the other side effects.

I am not sure whether I should be asking for HRT or not. It's pretty bareable. I've also gained about 15 pounds in the last 1.5 years.

I'm the poster. I sometimes wake up a little hot during the night but it only lasts 15 seconds usually and I just sleep with my sheet on. My other symptoms are waking up by 5 or 5:30 most days and taking forever to fall back to sleep. Eventually going on my phone after 30 minutes and then my eyes shut finally. And I get in another little bit until 645 when I wake up to start working.

Following. I’m in the exact same situation at 55 (28-30 day cycles until this year). The constant feeling of it being imminent is driving me crazy.

My guess is you’re an outlier in terms of being so consistent for so long - that’s lucky for you. Most of us are dealing with a lot more and worse much earlier.

Correction: periods were 28-30 days until last year.

I am 57. Periods had gone to every 24 days the last year from 38-30. They have been heavy but not more than a Super Plus or Ultra tampon every 4-5 hours. Never skipped except for pregnancy and breast feeding. Kids at 38 and 40. Last period was May 23. I am now late but feel like it could start soon. Just looking for experiences on how long this feeling is going to last as I anxiously check expecting to see blood. I am old so I’m hoping it won’t last for 5 years. I go to my gyn the end of July.
