I once skipped renting at an apartment complex because I could smell the roaches. I do not have a great sense of smell either.

Wow, that's crazy they'd have a place like that for rent! I cannot imagine the smell nor do I want to know what a roach smells like. ick!

It's hot out. Humidity brings out the old house smells.

This, plus you’re talking about roaches like they are outings to the burger joint.

I don't really know what you're talking about, but if it makes you feel better you could hire an exterminator and have a deep clean done? We always hire an exterminator when we feel nervous about roaches.

We use prime day to update our robot vacuum. I should say, vacuums. This time around we got one separate one for each level.

Our prior old vacuums were, separately, gradually, non-working. Ive been manually sweeping and vaccuming for 6-12 months, and it doesn’t feel as clean. Even if I do a great job, it never feels like 3000+ sqft is clean all at the same time. Key point—this new vacuum situation is *immediately* fixing my floor issues since their arrival on Saturday. Overnight, night and day, all clean, all at the same time.
Not only that, but I can focus 100% on counters, shelves, surfaces. We are so, so clean here.

Crazy clean on both levels. Amazing. But I’m noticing…
-does my house smell like cockroaches? Weird odor not emanating from the vacuums but, like the after effect of a clean house doesn’t smell fresh. I thought we’d smell fresher overall. Not the case. After the clean, it smells lightly of ‘house BO.’
-I saw a small roach today, grabbed it with toilet paper and flushed it.

Our typical roach is seen.. maybe once in 2 months. So, still nothing changed, this isn’t a frequency bump. But funny I felt like I smelled it today, and then saw one.

So, anyway, did absolutely clearing my floors, all at once, suddenly…. Freak out roaches? Are they hiding and freaking out and giving off a scent? Already ordered Combat bait to begin a new roach war.

TLDR; does immediately switching up our cleaning routine, having 100% clean floors..cause a mild/rare roach issue to..make them give off a smell/exit hiding spaces?
