No. But multiple instances of being followed and feeling like I narrowly escaped something bad.

I’m 58 and have lived in NY, NJ, VA, MD and CA all before graduating from high school. Went to school in MA.

In my 20s l was walking home, a van followed me offering a ride. After a few minutes l ran to another car on the road and asked that person to give me a ride, to get away from the van following me.

I have a childhood memory of a woman and her daughter trying to keep me from leaving a public restroom in the Knights of Columbus hall where my large extended family attended and hosted events but at 52 I can't say if it really happened or if it was a dream.

Me no. My grandma was chased as a young girl playing in a park near her house. She was roller skating so she skated home.
My grandma and mom were vigilant about strangers. An old lady handed my little sister a dime once because I was looking at an expensive item in a store window and my sister was standing next to me. They were upset about it even though the contact was over in seconds.
My sister as a 5 year old was also picked up off the ground in the souks of Tunis and carried into a store so we would come in and take a look at the merchandise. This was weird but didn't seem too menacing. More like something people thought was funny to do to tourists. But definitely would not have been okay in the US.

There was a car following my brother and me as we walked up our block towards our home. We talked about running in the opposite direction or running to someone else's house or confronting them, etc.
We settled on my brother having his housekey out and in position and I would fling open the screen door and make sure his backpack wouldn't get in the way, we agreed we wouldn't bring the mail in like we were supposed to. On three we ran. Our teamwork was superb, if I do say so myself.

No, I've had more instances of people being kind when I was a kid and had issues. And, I was pretty scared of the idea, there was a girl in my not-large town who dissapeared due to a kidnapping/rape thing. She was super young.
Or (in my late teens / early 20s) of me being stupid and still not having anything terrible happen. Mostly just luck at that point, though. My only scary moment was a high school friend trying to force himself on me (kiss/make out, not more), but ultimately being gentle enough to allow me to hold him off until others were around. Still not OK, but i shudder today at some of the situations I was in and came out unscathed from.

Yes. As a teen, kidnapped briefly but I got away when car stopped into woods and found a house to call police.

I was studying abroad in Mexico and took a taxi to met my friends. The cab driver took a weird route and down a deserted alley. I asked what was going on and he didn’t respond. We sat there in silence for about 10 minutes. Then he just put the car in drive and took me to my destination.
I have no idea what happened. He definitely wasn’t picking up another fare.

Walking home from school in Paris, a man handed me his business card to come and shoot model photos at his studio. I was 12 and felt it was shady, so I did not pursue.
At around the same age, a man rubbed himself against me in a crowded metro train. I was paralyzed and couldn't move or scream.

Curious about this as I recall two instances in my life growing up - one as a child being offered candy of was to walk inside of a male strangers home only a few blocks away from my own and another as a teenager while in a parking lot with a van/man hoping out running after me (1990s).
Whenever this topic comes up, it seems most women have had an almost kidnapping type of experience.
Did you experience the same?
As my DD is a teen, and times have changed, I’m wondering if everyone at some point has this type of occurrence happen.
